Weaving Mug Rug Coasters on a Rigid Heddle Loom
•Posted on April 11 2023

These are so h*ckin cute I could die. AND they're actually sturdy AND absorbent AND washable. I'll be making more. For every room of my house.
Not to mention, this is a great pattern for scraps!
I used a paid pattern, linked below. I don't personally thing it's worth $9 for this pattern (and you could totally work out how to make these from watching my video). The pattern wasn't terribly detailed. Be sure to watch through to find out what I wish I had done differently. Spoiler - the fringe was annoying af.
Details:
- Pick & Pick Coasters Weaving Pattern
- Ashford 24" Rigid Heddle Loom
- 7.5 dpi heddles
- 48 ends - 6" warp width
- 68"ish warp for 4 coasters
- worsted weight non-superwash wool yarn
At any rate, these mug rug coasters payoff really well in stylish home decor accessory points for how simple they are to make.
Enjoy :)
